Accounts - Assistant Accountant- Harrogate - £25k

Rate: £ 20 to £ 25 K (full-time (per year))
SUMMARY: £25K: ACCOUNTS EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - HARROGATE
Our clients are a specialist IT solutions distributor based in West Yorkshire. Due to expansion they are now looking to grow their team and recruit an experienced management accountant to work in their Harrogate offices.
The Role:
Compilation of the monthly reporting pack
Compilation of the additional quarterly reporting packs
Reconciliation of intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers
Control of fixed assets, including acquisitions and disposals, depreciation and maintenance of asset register.
Responsibility for monthly accruals, prepayments and related releases for all overhead costs, including reconciliation of control accounts.
Analysis of monthly and year to date overhead costs including budget variance analysis.
Compilation and control of the monthly reconciliation file.
Completion and submission of the company's quarterly VAT returns including EC sales listing and scale fuel charges.
Completion and submission of the company's monthly Intrastat returns for despatches and arrivals.
Liaising with other departments to resolve any VAT issues and queries that arise.
Liaising with VAT and Intrastat inspectors.
Checking and authorising import & duty invoices.
Completion of annual P11d returns and other payroll and employee benefit returns.
Control of monthly company car costs including reconciliation of the company car schedule and fuel card charges to the accounts, checking and authorising lease car charges and fuel card invoices, notifying HMRC of changes to employees' cars.
Other payroll reconciliations including wages, PAYE, BUPA and pensions control accounts.
The Person:
Accounts Experience Essential
- Exam success to A-Level or beyond.
- Part qualified in either ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
- At least 2 years experience in VAT, P11d's and other year end payroll processes preferred.
- Literate, numerate and with good IT skills (good Excel skills essential).
- Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with internal contacts at all levels.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, and committed team player capable of using own initiative when required.
- Close attention to detail essential.
The Package:
The salary on offer is up to £25k (dependant upon experience) plus standard company benefits. (21 days holiday rising to a maximum of 25 with length of service and life assurance at 4x basic salary)
